A "News" post

Hello.

I just wanted to announce that I am opening up a new blog section on my website.  I am doing this so I can share my ideas and experiences with the world, in hopes of being helpful to others.  I will include functionality for visitors to add comments to my Blog posts, so please feel free to add your opinions.  I will not moderate the comments, so you should be able to see them right after you post them.  Please be respectful of others and do not spam or flame on my Blog.

Thank you, and enjoy the show.

Amazing article. The visual content displayed here is actually of pretty great quality. I’ll take this web-site much more often regarding

Wow, thanks Old Roy.  I don’t even have my series on my website yet, and you’ve seen it already?  Must have been watching on YouTube, eh?  I have 2 more coming in the series, hopefully today.  Then the series will be complete.  It was my pleasure to do it, since it is at least “something” I am able to contribute to these projects.

Regarding Rails and CouchDB, Couch is Architect-ed such that you can replace SS JavaScript with other server-side scripting languages.  There are already libraries available that serve as a wrapper to CouchDB functionality.  There are at least 3 for Ruby on Rails:

Hope that helps…

Shane,
Thanks very much for this series. I’ve recently come back to extjs right at the point that 4.0 was released and gravitated immediately to the mvc pattern. In the past I’ve built some complex ext widgets but always felt it was a bit messy to keep track of everything. With mvc there is finally structure.
The only problem has been finding examples. But now there is a pretty solid example - your’s - and it should be a good jumpoing off point for more and more interest in mvc in extjs.
I’m a rails person. I had to take a step back and figure out what couchdb is all about. And while I’m not about to abandon rails…..couchDB looks like a something I will be spending more time with.

Anyway - thanks…..you did what the extjs guy’s should have done. Any help you need - I’ll certainly provide if I can. I would certainly like to re-do your series for rails/extjs/mvc at some point.
