Learning Objective

Students will be able to change internal environmental conditions for a human and see the effect on blood sugar, insulin, and glucagon levels in healthy and diabetic individuals. Students will be able to predict homeostatic changes to the changing conditions.

Real World Application

How can diet, exercise and medication affect individuals? The multiple factors interact in an individual to affect their overall health. The feedback mechanisms that enable individuals to maintain homeostasis do have limits and sometimes fail if conditions are too extreme.
