Students will investigate the factors affecting solid solubility, including nature of solute and temperature.
Real world application
Sugar dissolves in water, but different amounts dissolve depending on the temperature of the water. This knowledge can help when making sweet tea.
Select a temperature, solvent, solute, and solute amount. Click the bottle to add the solvent to the beaker, and click the scoop to add the solute to the solvent. Does it dissolve? Continue to add solute until the solution reaches saturation. Reset the lab to try a new experiment.
